The chimes ring in the depth of the night,it goes it goes it goes. Is it calling me,it goes it goes it goes.Enchantment bewitch the allured, more deluded we become
and clear no more. Gloom pursues, dysphoria besiege. The clash of cymbals, the boom of drums in the distance, impending, imposing. The violin shrieks and the cello mourns. Black ribbons prance and twine around the heart, strangling it slowly. Claws gripping and scratching. Limbs swing with limp leaps. Shrill shrieks shrill shrieks boom boom boom. A symphony. An orchestra. Gunfire. And all was silent - except for the faint faint tune of the chimes. And so, the blood red curtain draws.

Tuesday, January 16

Today Tiff told me that Shaun blogged a whole lot of stuff about 07A02 and how he misses them and all but too bad, by the time I got to his blog I can't find that entry anymore. Nonetheless, the tags people left behind showed how much everyone is soaked in orientation spirit and how all the OGLs feel like a father or mother watching their children take their first step into JC life. And all you people out there, knowing how emotional I am, I had a whole train of thoughts and feelings following all these episodes the past one week plus.

I remember last year when I first got a call from this dude telling me that I'm in OG15 for orientation and a whole list of things to bring on the first day, including $25 for orientation package. (MY goodness I thought it consisted of only some booklets and that they were demanding way too much..Oh wells...) Reporting to NJC on the first day was like a bewildered strange trip to 'the school beside my school(NY)' and I was fairly nervous about meeting new people and adapting to a new environment. BUT I was a lucky girl because I met 5 very special people. They were my OGLs and guess what? I got them again for the second week of orientation. C: I'm one lucky girl.

Karen: the one who tried to find me a husband on the first day of school and the first to call us all her babies. Extremely talented, she encouraged me to find what I want in life and really do something to pursue it.C: Her bold and outgoing nature makes her such a strong and admirable person in a fairly feminine way. She's my mama.

Jeff: ahhh this Eurasian indian-lookalie dude who loves to ask us to guess what his race is. Small for his size but encompasses the ability to house a bottomless pit in his body system -- takes whatever food you have for him. With a great DJ voice and eloquence in speech, you can talk to him about anything and everything.C:

Charlene: the capable house captain who is always busy doing something for Ignis. Her effort to be there for the entire house and yet be with A02 impressed me. It's like she can handle so much! And although from time to time, I do hear that she's tired and stressed up, but she goes on and on and on. She picks herself up and together with her friends, she brought Ignis into my heart.

Sara: the pretty one! Fair, quiet and demure, she's different from the most of the others in 05A02. She's my dance senior! And we shared great times even after orientation, during Aristal. Remember Angun and our part on the platform, as well as the time when we went to toilet to practise our face expression. Great great times...C:

Adrian: the chubby one who never fails to put across irrefutable points to you and light a million smiles on people with some silly rah-rah comments. But putting aside all the jokes, he's great. Seemingly cynical and caustic on the outside, he's a baby on the inside. Adores and pampers us as much as anyone could possibly love and care for another. He calls us his babies too. HE told us that a lot of the seniors wanted to be OGLs because they wanted to show us the spirit of A02 and that was one of the main reason why I wanted to be OGL so badly. He taught me A LOT, which I think even he didn't know that I had picked up so much from him. And he gave me the will to carry on as CTrep, drawing strength from the love for A02. I miss you a lot a lot a lot a lot!:C

And so the time continued until week 2 when we were splitted up from our OG into our classes. And from then on, I thought that first 3 months was the best time of my life.C:

Seeing the juniors in school and having orientation and all that fun just reminded me of how much I miss certain people and how our seniors took us in. I miss Junquan, Sharlene, Tammie, Chen Wei especially...I miss the times when so many of us would squeeze together into one round table and eat lunch every free period. I miss all the stupid crazy jokes we would crack and laugh like nobody's business. And most of all, I just miss having you people around.

And I know that by the end of this year, I will have a lot more people whom I will miss. Be they in the old 06A02 or the new one, they are all A02 and my only pity is that they never got to know how truly wonderful each other are.

I remember the feeling when Karen wrote to me for the first time saying that I'm in the most phenomenon class. I remember when they told us that the table at the far end of the canteen near the prata store was the Arts class tables. I remember reading a few entries on 05A02 blog and I was drawn by the stories and experiences of A02. I remember when we bought ba kwa for our seniors and they cried. I remember promising the seniors that we will do our best to live up to their high expectations. I remember when we tried our best to win the CNY poster competition and we lost.

And that was the turning point when I realised that we can never be like 05A02 because with each batch comes a different group of people. Sometimes the harder we try, the further we will get from what we want.

But from then on, we did what we could. Although we don't spend as much time together as some other classes, the times we had were joyful ones filled with nonsensical laughters. We crap hard, we mug hard(quite) and we get high when we're on our own.C: And I believe that all of us in A02 loves Ignis in some way or another.

If you tell the stories of 05A02 to the juniors, they might not feel as much as we do. Just like 06A02 can never understand how genuinely close 05A02 were to their seniors and OGLs. But all these batches are episodes to the whole A02 story. Like someone said before, and like the jigsaw pieces that still stays on the backboard of TA13, we are part of a puzzle and we can all fit nicely together although we can't always fit perfectly into every place. And like this idea, every new batch of A02 will be like a puzzle piece. One day, we will find traces of them lying around, be it in letters or on the net, blogs and many more, and we will all fit in together. It's like a mark, which imprints itself upon you the day you become A02. Quoting Tiff, "06A02, our class, will remain in my heart, in your hearts, and in every other heart tha has felt that brief touch of fire, FOREVER." ANd quoting Adrian, "its not the fate that binds, but the effort that takes you through. as long as you will, you will be A02 till the day you pass on."

Today I go to school and each day passes by so quickly. As much as we all got As and other commitments to worry about, let us all take some time off to think back on the past year and how 06A02 has got this far because this year, we've got to show the juniors the ropes. Let them know how A02 is like and hopefully from there, they will develop their own personality.C:

And such are the stories of A02. One day, I shall tell them to 07A02 -- the new babies around.C:

I LOVE A02!
